SRL East, comprising of 6 stations from Cheltenham to Box Hill, will connect major employment, health, education and retail destinations in Melbourne’s east. The SRL East Development, Initial, and Early Works package (Work Package A) includes road modifications, utility relocations, ground improvement trials, tram terminus works, and site preparations for tunnel boring machines.

FSC is the environmental consultant for the project, providing services across the site investigation and project advisory streams.

  • Developing appropriate sampling schedules aligned with the project design requirements
  • Soil classification assessments (NEPM assessments and for waste disposal) - >500,000 m3 classified
  • Landfill gas monitoring at Burwood Station and the Southern Stabling Yard
  • Groundwater and surface water monitoring across all 7 work locations
  • EPR management lead – FSC personnel responsible for making sure that all project obligations are met
  • Development of all environmental management plans for the project and multiple Worksite Environmental Management Plan
  • Onsite advisory services
  • Engagement/liaison with stakeholders including the Independent Environmental Auditor, SRLA, EPA Victoria, Melbourne Water and local councils
