Started in 2015 by three passionate engineers, FSC was built to be a different kind of business - one that values its people, delivers practical solutions for clients, and is committed to the communities we serve.
FSC has grown as our clients recognised not only our love for the work we do, but also our continuous innovation in project delivery. Through all the changes, one thing has remained constant: our passion.
Our Story
2015
FSC Group is founded in Melbourne by three Civil Engineers.
Founded by John Fitzgerald, Lachlan Smith and Luke Camen, the business initially provided Project Management services to small civil contractors but soon moved into providing those services on a secondment basis to major infrastructure projects.
2017
FSC opens its current office in a charming 100-year-old building in Richmond.
A huge renovation project for a small company, a lot of effort is put into revamping the space to fit the needs and vibe of the Melbourne staff.
2017
FSC broadens its offerings to include environmental services and engineering design services.
Responding to the evolving needs of the industry, FSC establishes new functions under the stewardship of co-founders Stuart Twelftree and Nathan Burmeister.
2022
FSC opens its first interstate office in Sydney, ready to seize opportunities in this vibrant city.
After successfully opening a Sydney office, FSC has subsequently opened offices in three additional major Australian cities: Brisbane, Adelaide and Sunshine Coast.
2023
FSC transitions into an employee-owned business by opening ownership up to its people.
Over the next two years, employee ownership steadily increases, with over 30% of the team now holding shares in the company.

Our Projects
We’ve helped plan and manage some of the nation’s biggest projects – and some of the smallest too. But no matter the size, the one thing in common has always been the quality of our people and project outcomes.
Our clients represent some of the most successful organisations in APAC, including CPB Contractors, Laing O’Rourke, Arup, Major Road Projects Victoria, Port of Melbourne and the Department of Transport.
Since 2015, FSC has enjoyed working with these organisations to plan, design, manage and construct projects such as the West Gate Tunnel Project, North East Link, Cross River Rail, multiple level crossing removals and rehabilitation of the Hazelwood Mine.
